Dore Exquisite Gowns, the top Ballroom design atelier in the country, headed by lead designer Dawn Smart, debuted their premiere collection of evening gowns at New York Fashion Week on September 12th, 2012. Arena NYC accommodated a glamorous audience of 300 guests, which included some notable editors from InStyle, Vogue, Haarper’s Bazaar, Glamour and Pinstripe Magazine, stylists, bloggers and fashionistas. Among the distinguished guests were Miss New York

Mallory Hagan, Miss Gotham City Acacia Courtney, Amy Poliakoff and Maggie Schaffer of Bravo’s Gallery Girls, Heidi Dillon of Style’s Big Rich Texas, celebrity aesthetician and beauty author Lora Condon, celebrity interviewer Cognac Wellerlane and Royal & celeb stylist Engie Hassan, the official stylist of the show.

The evening was an entertaining blend of fashion, music and dance. The show commenced with a scintillating dance performance by Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach who looked impeccable in outfits by Dore Designs. This was soon followed by the eagerly anticipated display of Dore Design’s evening gowns. The dresses showcased richness in color and style, featuring hand painting, Swarovski crystal elements (Swarovski was a sponsor of the show), and couture craftsmanship. Several gowns featured inventive details such as sky high slits, long feathered trains and even petticoat-like ruffles. The gowns did justice to the models’ figures with captivating flow and movement as they dazzled on the runway.

Right after the show was another brilliant performance by Vard Margaryan (of So You Think You Can Dance) and Sofya Fil. Sarah Atereth, a U.K. # 1 recording artist then took the stage and entertained the audience with two of her dance numbers to which the enthusiastic crowd sang along and danced.
The after party saw an enthusiastic crowd dancing away. DJ Eric Voz had the perfect music playing to set the right ambience. The evening full of entertainment and talent ended on a note of promise of many more glamorous events by Dore Designs. Special thanks to the sponsors and partners for the event : Swarovski Elements, Ecru New York, All Natural Snapple, EngieStyle, Yellow Sky Agency, Lead Makeup Artist Nesreen Hamdan and Boutique Artists.

After months of anticipation we could barely hold our excitement on the day of this colorful, rambunctious evening. In the company of colleagues from the beauty and fashion industries, TV personalities as well as friends and family, author Lora Condon officially launched her book SPA WARS: The Ugly Truth About The Beauty Industry on a night filled with glamour, joy and delicious treats from Empanada Mama, Butternuts Beer and the royal Château de Chambord (actually, throw some glitter in that equation to get a better mental image).

Hosted by Sex and the City’s Patricia Field and the Women’s Mafia at the House of Field (known for its fashion extravaganzas) to benefit GLAAD, people walking by wondered what the fuss what all about “Are they filming a movie?”, “Is it a rave?” were some remarkable guesses. In actuality, guests were enjoying something much better: Shopping at special rates, Music by DJ Sharri Model, makeup by Alicia Oliveri, Salon Services by the renowned Salon at Patricia Field and a Fierce Photo Contest with photographer Montana.

VIP Guests at the Event included: Project Runway Lead Hair Stylist George Ortiz, Celebrity hairstylist Eric Alt, Gossip Queen Flo Anthony, Music Impresario Lori Michaels, Award Winning Beauty Queen Miss Tiffany, Television Personality Cognac Wellerlane, “The Salon Guy” Stephen Marinaro, top tier Beauty and Fashion Editors and many more guests.
