250 guests came to celebrate Ann Yee’s Fall/Winter Collection 2010 Video LookBook Launch event at Tribeca Grand Hotel. Inspired by abstract expressionist painter Cy Twombly’s color pallete and technique, Ann loves to create layered movement in her pieces where certain colors are allowed to shine through. Her collection’s interplay of bright colors, like red, green and yellow, against a muted Fall palette of shades of grey, beige, burgundy, and black expresses a downtown New York edge with uptown sophistication.

Draped silk tops, skirts and dresses create flowy silhouettes that complement the female body. Ann Yee enjoys to fuse unique details into her garments like zippers, finishes and an open V-back.

Ann Yee made her launch party a visual experience with wall-to-wall projections and a live performance by Oberhofer. The video lookbook captured each garment in it’s appropriate urban setting in the designer’s neighborhood of Downtown Manhattan.

Her new collection will be available at EVA New York on the Bowery, Albertine in the West Village and krisTEES in Astoria. We should definitely keep an eye on designer Ann Yee, as there seems to be so much more to come.
