Once again Kati Stern received a standing ovation at the end of the Venexiana Spring / Summer 2011 runway show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. Stern’s overwhelming number of fifty looks were both elegant and glamorous celebrating the female body. Gowns with oversize flowers and bows, one shoulder long satin dresses with diagonal lace overlays and crystal detailing, metallic cocktail dresses with snake print and long flowing marble print dresses
Her color palette consisted mostly of warm tones, pastels, gold, silver, red, purple and shades of blue. Metallic gold and blue are all over the runways this season, proving that Glenn Beck is actually right, we should invest in gold! The Women’s Mafia recommends gold fabric versus mail order pawn shops though.
Our extremely talented friends at Tela Design Studio (the home of Tela Beauty Organics), who hosted our fashion show on September 9th, were responsible for the delicious and refreshing hairstyles. Phillip Pelusi and his team are bringing crimping back into style but in a very subtle new way. Hair was pulled back into a loose elegant bun with strands of hair pulled out and crimped in medium size waves. Pelusi, like Kati Stern, knows that women want it both ways, elegance and fun in equal parts.
