Custo Barcelona’s served up its usual kaleidoscopic mash up of sequins, florals, metallics and lace for its Spring 2013 collection. Sporty looks were given the high fashion treatment. Models glided down the catwalk wearing perforated shirts, silk cuffed jogging pants, sequined and fishnet T-shirts, and mesh trousers with low waistlines. Some dressed down their dazzling beaded dresses with sneakers or an army fatigue outerwear.  Sibling designers Custo and David Dalmau are known for their distinctive and dizzying use of colors, tribal prints, patterns and textiles. But they showed a softer side this time around by incorporating floral prints, laceand pastels throughout their collection. Embellished sequin dresses in cotton-candy pink, mint green and grays captivated the audience, which included celebrity fashion stylist-cum-reality TV star June Ambrose, and former America’s Next Top Model fashion director Jay Manuel. Shorts were paired with see-though lace shirts with dramatically long trains. One highlight was an exquisitely textured soft green coat that looked as if it was crafted from butterfly wings that fluttered as the model moved. For menswear, the designers kept things fun and floral. A hot pink suit with large floral print was a sure head turner.  The fresh faced models went minimal on beauty and accessories, with wind blown hair styled with simple side parts. In all, Custo Barcelona displayed a collection that was both wearable and fun.
