Catalan designer Toni Francesc’s Spring 2010 Show “Water’s Mood” at New York Fashion Week was inspired by the poetry of water: “Water is life and consciousness, and its states create parallels with our moods.”
The collection represented water by using flowing silhouettes of silk and shades of whites, greys, greens and blues. Dresses, blouses and skirts were elaborately draped with smooth folds creating waves and layers of fabric on the models. The blue dress, which stood out the most, was made of long flowing layers of chiffon that made the model look like she was driving down the runway on top of a wave. Vests and short jackets completed some of the outfits that were very elegant and wearable.
We had the opportunity to go backstage after the show and to meet Toni Francesc to congratulate him on his collection.
