As many of you know, the Women’s Mafia is very active in promoting artists and also in supporting civil liberties. We are helping GLAAD with their planning of their annual OUTAuction, a star-studded event and one of the biggest art auctions in New York. We are pleased to announce they have invited us to invite artists to submit pieces for the Silent Auctions!
SUBMIT A PIECE OF ART – DEADLINE TO SUBMIT ARTWORK IS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14
Are you an artist? Submit a piece of work for consideration. There are 100 exclusive slots available in this year’s silent auction. If your piece is accepted, you will receive two complimentary tickets to the event, as well as other benefits. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
All emerging artists that are selected to participate in this year’s show will be eligible to be nominated for the Best Emerging Artist Awards in three categories: Mixed Media, Painting and Drawing, and Photography.
If you are an art collector and can donate a substantial piece to be included in the Live Auction, please contact GLAAD’s Special Events Manager Johnny Gonzales at firstname.lastname@example.org or (646) 871-8010. Please note all pieces selected for the Live Auction must be accompanied with proper paperwork including a letter of authenticity. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
OUTAuction NYC 2009 presented by Bud Light
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the GLAAD Board of Directors, our Honorary Committee and Arts Advisory Committee and this year’s Planning Committee invite you to join us for OUTAuction NYC – our eighth annual art event to celebrate established and emerging artists, while recognizing GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists.
Since 2002, GLAAD has produced this annual fundraising event to support our programmatic work. Part art auction and part glamorous cocktail reception, OUTAuction NYC is the must attend event of the fall season.
Come join us and bid on 100 unique pieces of art. Last year’s live auction featured work from Pablo Picasso, Herb Ritts, Steven Klein, and Marc Chagall. Past artists include: Ross Bleckner, Ryan McGinness, Patrick McMullan, Annie Leibovitz, Karim Rashid, Mario Sorrenti, Peter Max, Rosie O’Donnell, and many others. Celebrities who have participated in the past include: Tom Ford, Susie Essman, Patricia Fields, Eva LaRue and Junior Vasquez among others.
