For the 3rd year in a row I am proud to be a Co-Chair for this year’s Planning Committee for GLAAD’s annual signature art event – OUTAuction. I hope you will consider joining me on November 21 for a night of cocktails and great art – all for a good cause. The event is already receiving great art pieces for this year’s auction and we expect to have another stellar year. We’re excited to share with you that Jill Zarin (from the Real Housewives of New York) will be a host this year. Through her participation as well as the backing of our confirmed Presenting Partner Bud Light, Lexus, Rokk Vodka; our Corporate Partner Barefoot Wine; our Honorary Host Committee; our Art Advisory Committee we will be putting together an auction of exceptional artwork and entertainment that will draw a stellar audience. Not only has the event grown in corporate and guest attendance, it continues to gain awareness from the art world.
If you are an artist or art dealer/ collector, we invite you to submit art for consideration. There are 100 exclusive slots available in this year’s auction. If your submission is accepted you will receive two complimentary tickets to the event, as well as other benefits. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
All emerging artists that are selected to participate in this year’s show will be eligible to be nominated for the Best Emerging Artist Awards in three categories: Mixed Media, Painting/ Drawing and Photography.
GLAAD and I would also like to invite you to join us as a member of the Host Committee. As a member of the Host Committee GLAAD asks you to outreach to at least 10 new faces by inviting them to this exciting event. In return your name will be recognized on the host committee in the event invitation, official event page, and on our day of the event signage. We encourage all hosts to purchase their own ticket to the event to ensure their attendance. GLAAD will provide you with electronic invites to send your contacts and Facebook and Twitter instructions to help us spread the word. Please note if 8 of your friends/ contacts purchase tickets, you will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the event.
OUTAuction celebrates established and emerging artists – part glamorous cocktail party, part art auction, OUTAuction NYC recognizes GLAAD’s Top 100 Artists. The live and silent auctions features 100 original pieces of art and more than 700 guests will be present including top names from the art, entertainment, media, fashion and philanthropic communities. Celebrities who have participated in the past include: Tom Ford, Alan Cumming, John Cameron Mitchell, Susie Essman, Patricia Fields, Eva LaRue, Jensen Atwood and Junior Vasquez among others.
