ASTONISH Magazine’s second issue is entitled “Outer Beauty.” Editor-In-Chief Forvana Etonne asks eloquently: “What is Outer Beauty? Is it a reflection of the purity, love, madness and conflict that are inside all of us? Or is it a superficial ploy, a mask to conceal what is really inside?”

ASTONISH issue two features some of the best photographers, designers, models and writers from around the world exploring the issue of Outer Beauty. Features include ASTONISH Generation profiles on model Lucy McIntosh, the face of Australian Fashion Week, photographer Kosuke Matsuo and designer Phuong My. Runway greats such as Gaspard Yurkievich and Rochambeau have their recent collections featured alongside interviews, while Costume designer Jacqueline West and Pussycat Dolls singer Vanessa Curry are also highlighted. The issue is rounded out by a host of editorials and features on global fashion artists including three “Euro Spotlight” interviews.

ASTONISH magazine is the answer to an industry starved for smart, unique and visually stimulating Fashion & Art content. This category-defying publication is not merely a high-end print magazine, but a multimedia platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent in a global spotlight. Its goal is to inspire, reinvent, and revolutionize the fading publication industry. With stunning imagery, insightful social commentary, and interviews with industry professionals, ASTONISH Magazine delivers a powerful experience to its readers.

Designer Ken Chen embodies the magazine’s essential mission of showcasing the best emerging Fashion Artists of today. Ken Chen SF made waves and gained an international following for his debut collection in 2011, while still studying at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and now he is ready to take the New York Fashion Week by storm with a nearly 50 look collection for men and women. Born in Taiwan and once competing internationally in Taiwan and Singapore as a Gold Medaling figure skater, Ken Chen has always been a driven, determined artist. His designs focus on the balance of humanity, nature and the architecture of the man-made world. The new collection emphasizes fit, with strong shoulders, accentuated waists and lots of shapes and variation in the jackets. The observant viewer of his collection will also notice understated floral details: he watched many time-elapsed videos of plants growing to inspire the movement and detailing of his pieces. Featuring luxurious fabrics such as wool, cashmere, silk charmeuse, real and faux fur and lots of leather, Ken Chen’s pieces are designed to bring out the sexy, powerful and strong individual in his clientele. His Fall/Winter 2012 collection in now available to order.

Although he only began designing two years ago, Ken Chen has already proven his Fashion Credentials and captivated the style cognoscenti in San Francisco, Europe, Australia and Asia. ASTONISH is proud to have showcased this exciting, incandescently rising talent.

The highly anticipated second print edition of ASTONISH hits major US newsstands Spring 2012. Join the movement, be a creative leader of the future, and prepare yourself to be astonished. Become a part of the ASTONISHWorld movement at .
